Hi,
I hope you’re well.
Let’s face it, the world could be better at the moment, and I’m finding it important to filter what I see on my phone and computer screen to keep my mental health in check. This isn’t new, but sometimes I forget, and it can become overwhelming very quickly.
It’s also very easy to feel like you’re not doing enough, or someone’s doing way better than you. When that happens it helps to have someone around to say you’re doing fine, and thankfully Marielle is there for me. Even with the excellent stuff that’s happened with Antarctica et al, I still sometimes feel down and a little lost with how to progress further in my writing. Don’t be afraid to tell people when you’re struggling. They’ll understand and be able to help more than you ever thought possible.
Almost all of us are finding it harder to make ends meet, and that obviously has a knock on effect to disposable income, which in turn means there’s less to go round on Kickstarter. We’re fighting for attention in a world where everyone and everything is so desperate to win yours; it can be very fatiguing. Our books will always be available from our online shop, so don’t ever feel like you’re going to miss out on something.
I’m not sure where I’m going with this. I think I just wanted to let you know how I was. And I want you to take care of yourself and watch out for the ones you care about, above everything.
Take some time. Rest. Play games. Paint miniatures. Watch Severance. Whatever is your jam, jam away. You’re doing fine. You’re doing enough. Don’t be hard on yourself.
I’ve spent a lot of January in Kickstarter fulfilment mode, and haven't got the next campaign as ready as I was planning. I’m honestly not worried about it, it’s shaping up to be another busy year for Blue Fox, and I’m certain you're happy not to have to back something of ours for a few weeks!
Normal service will resume shortly.
Speak soon and stay safe,
Simon
And now we have Storm Eowyn to cope with here in Scotland - wild winds forecast. I hope you’ve battened down the hatches at Blue Fox Comics.
Hey. We are in the Age of Idiocy. Welcome to January, 2025. Crypto is King and the moron is in ascendancy. Truth is lie and lie is fact.
But on the good side, Carl Sagan and Arthur C Clarke died years ago, so you don't have to see the disappointment in their eyes at where we are.
